By Dale Hay -:- Permalink -:- 0 CommentsThe Great Flood23rd Jul 2007 21:30pmThe heavy rain has now died in Britain however a load of areas are now flooded in Britains Great Flood. There are currently 8 severe flood warnings around the country, over 100,000 homes and businesses are damaged and the cost of the damage is currently planned to be more than 2 billion pounds. Tewkesbury has no running water and out of power, except street lights. Warnings are currently along the River Severn, River Avon and River Thames are being monitored too as within 2 hours time in Oxford the River Thames banks will burst. Many people are blaming this on global warming, however the cause of this disaster is the fact that the jet stream is more southern than what it usually is, which I suppose happens every couple of times each century. By Dale Hay -:- Permalink -:- 0 CommentsI think I'll stick with XP23rd Jul 2007 03:34amI think I'll stick with Microsoft Windows XP for the time being as I have just found out that taking a screen dump, or print screen as others would call it, is a lot complicated in Microsoft Windows Vista than it is in XP. In XP or any other version of Windows you just basically click the PrtSc button and it's done, however in Vista you have to click Start, then search for a program called Snipping Tool, then load it and make a selection of the screen you want to take a screenshot of then save the file, blah blah blah. Until that is fixed then I will not be upgrading and I'd be happy just staying on Windows XP. By Dale Hay -:- Permalink -:- 0 CommentsEasy Age Selection - PHP18th Jul 2007 18:16pmIf you are making your own website registration form, then on the of chance you want an age selection box then don't spend hours manually typing it in, just a 3 lines of PHP and it will automatically do it for you. Very simple! Below is the tiny bit of code that will automatically make a dropdown box for your site. Basically it starts at 1 and goes to 100. If you want to change the numbers then edit the $i = 1 value, which is the number it starts on, then edit the $i < 101 value, which is the number it goes upto plus one, so 54 would go upto 53. <select name="age"> <?php for($i=1;$i<101;$i++) { echo "<option>$i</option>"; } ?> </select> By Dale Hay -:- Permalink -:- 0 CommentsdhSpy v1 Released17th Jul 2007 16:46pmDo you always wonder what your children might be on when they are on your computer whilst your back is turned? Well I have created a program that will take a screenshot of the activity that is happening on your computer. The program is called dhSpy and it runs nicely in the system tray and is protected by a password, which changes everytime the program is launched. I would not mind watching this in the Cinema. Its called 30 Days of Night, basically the storyline goes something along the lines of the area near the north pole region that have 30 days of no sunshine and vampires start attacking during these 30 days. The clip is from South park Season 11 Episode 4 where Queen Elizabeth II decides to blow her brains out after finding out the American's found out the British were attacking them with Russian decoys. The clip only lasted 8 seconds too, oh well things like this happen.
